Management
The briefing identifies a long list of control measures including: picking up rubbish, securing materials, removing tripping hazards, not placing loose materials on scaffolds etc. During the briefing, staff should be made aware that they are expected to follow these control measures at all times.
Key points
Attendees must take note of the following key points:
- “Always clear up waste and rubbish as it develops.
- Remove combustible scrap and debris regularly.
- Store tools and equipment in their designated place.
- Do not store more than one shift’s worth of material, e.g. block or brick, on scaffolds.
- Ensure the platform, scaffold or support has adequate strength for the weight of material.”
