Method statement - fitting a hardwood window frame
Because of the risks associated with fitting windows, e.g. manual handling, the use of handtools, dust, debris etc., you must identify the safe systems of work that your staff should follow.
What to do?
If you’re fitting windows, you need to make sure that those involved are safe. However, you don’t need overly long or complex paperwork to achieve this. This method statement is a written series of safe systems of work. It specifies the activities to be undertaken on a stage-by-stage basis. It also details the precautions necessary to protect those involved in the work, including other contractors, members of the public and anyone else who may be affected by the work.
