Building condition checklist

It’s a good idea to periodically check the condition of your premises to ensure that it’s being properly maintained and not placing staff and visitors at risk. Use our Building Condition Checklist to carry out a survey.

Planning

Carrying out routine checks on a building’s condition will enable you to spot problems before they cause costly damage or accidents. For example, if tiles are loose, they can be fixed before they cause water damage or injury to passers by; asbestos that is not being properly managed can be brought under control before it’s accidentally disturbed, and infestations of wood-boring insects can be caught and treated at an early stage, saving money in the long run.

Using the form

Using our checklist will help you to identify urgent repairs and also less urgent problems that can be logged for future improvement when the budget allows. It includes 20 separate questions covering the main issues which are likely to arise on both the interior and the exterior of the building. For example, structural problems, leaks, utility safety, access routes, vermin control, lifts, fire systems etc.
