Woodchipper checklist
Before using a woodchipper it’s advisable to check that key safety arrangements are in place. Use our checklist for this task.
This Woodchipper Checklist is designed as a supplement to your risk assessment and method statement and can be completed by workers themselves. It begins with a reminder of the hazards associated with woodchipper use, which can be easily overlooked by users who are familiar with the equipment.
There are four sections covering all aspects of use, such as pre-use and siting of equipment, and safety aspects both during and after use. The form should take no longer than two to three minutes to complete.
Note. Although it’s written in an easy-to-read style, to avoid misunderstandings workers who are expected to use it should be briefed beforehand.
