Electrical hand tool checklist

A variety of electrical hand tools can now be found in the modern workplace, each presenting its own hazards. To help you manage them, we have created a checklist.

Electrical hand tool checklist

The second part of our combined procedure and checklist is the Electrical Hand Tool Safety Checklist. This helps guard against accidents by prompting the user to assess a tool for comfort and suitability for a particular job. It can be used until employees are familiar with its contents. At this point, it can still be referred to as and when necessary, e.g. for refresher training. It’s also split into two sections: The first set of questions help the employee to assess the suitability of the tool for the job being undertaken, whilst the second considers safety issues. For example, it looks at vibration and noise levels (which are both subject to specific legislation), as well as what safeguards are in place for this equipment.
