Health & safety whistleblowing policy

If employees come forward with concerns about hazards, short cuts or mismanagement, they should be protected from any adverse reaction. Use our document to set out your expectations for both employees and management.

What is whistleblowing?

A whistleblower exposes information or wrongdoing that could adversely affect others. There are several different ways in which the wrongdoing can be classified, e.g. it may be an illegal act, a breach of company policy, or a general health and safety concern. Whatever the allegation, your policy should ensure the employee is protected from reprisals or victimisation.

By having a Whistleblowing Policy staff will know what is expected of them as well as what won’t be tolerated.
