Register of health and safety legislation - construction and contractors

Part six

This sixth section of our register concerns construction and contractors. Like the others you should tailor it to fit your organisation to make it your own. The series comprises:

To help you achieve the criteria for ISO 45001, each of our register documents contains a table with four columns. The first includes the title of the legislation; the second is a summary of the Act or regulations referred to; the penultimate column lists the organisation responsible for enforcing the particular law (usually the HSE or the relevant local authority); and the final one is entitled “Aspects of activities affected”.

It’s in this fourth column that you should focus your efforts in changing the contents to suit your own organisation. As explained in the column header, here you should, “describe how and why the legislation affects you and refer to associated internal documents”. To make the job as painless as possible we’ve pre-filled the column with example text showing you the type and style of content which would be suitable.
