Unfair dismissal: no evidence of right to work in UK

The Employment Appeal Tribunal has ruled that an employee who was sacked on the grounds of “illegality” when he couldn’t produce evidence of his right to work in the UK was unfairly dismissed. Where did the employer go wrong?
